Bom dia Sônia!
Se você estiver utilizando o windows vista, registre a base de dados 
como remota e na opção ServerName informe LocalHost.
Vai ficar assim:
*Server	  Server Name	Server Version*
*Remote	  LocalHost	Firebird 1.5*
